Katelyn (Kate) Adams, BS

Kate graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor’s of Science degrees in Law
Enforcement Justice Administration and Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Master’s
degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Kate is completing
her internship at Progressive Psychological Healthcare. Kate currently serves as a Chicago police officer and has a diverse background and skill set that she brings to the counseling environment. Kate is a certified crisis intervention trained officer and has a multitude of experience helping those in crisis, as well as assisting their moved ones as well. Furthermore, Kate is well practiced in mitigating familial disputes, assisting those in need by providing an empathic ear and helping others navigate the legal system. She is an effective communicator and problem solver and she intends to use these skills to help her clients.

Therapy approach:
Kate’s main goal is to provide a safe and trauma informed space for her clients to freely share
their thoughts, emotions and stories. Additionally, Kate strives to help her clients through trying
times with an integrative approach from multiple modalities that best suit the client’s needs.
Moreover her goal is to work collaboratively with her clients to find solutions so they can live
more fulfilling lives.
