Amra Klempic, Psy.D

INTRODUCTION
Dr. Klempic is a very talented, compassionate, experienced and hard-working Doctor of Clinical Psychology, with a background in Health and Neuropsychology. She provides excellent care to
children, adolescents, adults and the elderly around her community where she continues to offer the highest quality care and treatments. Dr. Klempic completed her Doctorate in Clinical
Psychology at Midwestern University Medical School in Downers Grove, IL. Prior to her becoming a Clinical Psychologist, she spent seven years working in the private practice setting
as a Medical Assistant/Clerk. In addition, Dr. Klempic was also on a team at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital for thirteen years, working as a Unit Secretary on the Cardiac/Neuro
Progressive Care Unit, with rotations to Ortho/Trauma, Oncology, Bariatric and Detox Units.

Dr. Klempic completed her Internship at DuPage County Health Department and Fellowship in
Health and Neuropsychology with a focus on geriatrics at Comprehensive Counseling, PC in
Lombard. She went on to specialize in the treatment of neurocognitive/neurological disorders
and spent over 5+ years of post-doctoral training focusing in the area of neuropsychology. Her
major post-doctoral sites were as follows: Neurobehavioral Medicine Consultants, Ltd, The
Center for Integrative and Functional Health and Wellness, Sheridan Shores Rehabilitation
Center, Loyola Medical Center-Diamond Headache Clinic, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine
at UNLV-Ackerman Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Solutions and DuPage Medical
Group. Dr. Klempic experience is based on working with multi-ethical, culturally and
economically diverse clientele in multiple settings that include hospitals, short/long-term care
facility/nursing home, private practices and private/public clinics. For the past 8 years, Dr.
Klempic has been providing Comprehensive Neuropsychological and Psychological Evaluations,
Capacity Evaluations, Individual and Family Psychotherapy to adults and elderly with multiple
neurological, medical and psychological problems, such as dementia, chronic pain,
headache/migraines, head trauma, Parkinson’s, stroke, ADHD, learning disorders, autism and
various psychiatric conditions.

THEORETICAL LENS: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Integrated Mind Body Therapy;
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Person Centered Therapy; Dialectical Behavioral
Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness and Acceptance Based Treatment.

SPECIALIZATIONS/INTERESTS: Cardiac Psychology, Geropsychology, Health Psychology,
Integrative Medicine, Neuropsychology, PTSD/Trauma and Rehabilitation Psychology.

In addition, Dr. Klempic is multilingual; she speaks Bosnian, Croatian, English and Serbian. In
her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pet dog (Ella), running, traveling,
